Toilet Installation and Repair in Las Vegas, Henderson, Paradise, Boulder City, Pahrump, and North Las Vegas

Toilet installation is not an especially time-consuming job, but it does require physical exertion and a fair amount of expertise.  As with most plumbing jobs, there are complex factors involved in toilet installation.  Many mistakes that lead to toilet repairs can be avoided by relying on a pro for toilet installation.  Even a small misstep, such as misaligning the toilet on the wax ring, can lead to toilet leaks.

Toilet installation may seem easy, but even a single small mistake can result in an expensive toilet repair.  In addition, a manufacturer’s warranty could possibly be void if the homeowner does their own toilet installation.  An untrained person working on plumbing fixtures can turn a small problem into something much larger, possibly causing burst pipes, clogs, or leaks.  Leaks are the most common problem specifically related to incorrect toilet installation.  Sometimes that leak is visible, but other times, the leak is hidden within the floor.

Call Water Wise Plumbing for your toilet installation needs at (702) 605-6408.  Whether you are replacing a toilet, upgrading your toilet to a newer, more efficient water-saving model, replacing a broken unit, or renovating a bathroom, toilet installation should be completed the right way to avoid costly toilet repairs and damaging leaks in the future.

Installing The New Toilet

Before the new toilet installation can begin, the old toilet has to be removed.  This is not a difficult process as long as the proper preparation has taken place:

  • Protect the floors from residual water that gets out

  • Make sure that the water supply valve is turned off

  • Carefully remove the unit from the flange

    • This can be tricky when the flange is rusted or damaged.  Water Wise Plumbing is just a call away.

Installing a new toilet takes special care.  Make sure that the wax ring is the right size.  The new toilet bowl will be placed on top of the wax ring pressing it into the compound.  The toilet bowl is fastened to the flange with nuts and bolts designed for that specific purpose.  The Water Wise Plumber must make sure that the toilet bowl is level with no rocking.  Leaking between the toilet base and the floor is a sign that the wax ring needs replacing.

The toilet tank and bowl are assembled by placing a gasket and sometimes a rubber cushion between the two.  Fastening the bolts that hold the tank must be done carefully to prevent damage to the porcelain while still keeping the tank watertight and stable to prevent leaking.

The inner tank consists of a flapper valve, float ball, ballcock, and other essential parts.  Once installed, the water line is carefully reconnected and turned back on to fill the tank.

Checking for leaks is an essential part of toilet installation.  There are any number of places that leaks may occur.  So, the plumber must thoroughly inspect the connections made as well as checking the manufacturer’s connections for leaks.   The tank’s water level will be properly set; then the toilet flushed a few times to make sure that everything is in working order.

The bolts holding the toilet to the flange are checked one last time to make sure they are tight and no wobbling after the wax gasket settles.  Bolts that are too long may be cut down.  The final step is attaching a toilet seat and cleaning up the mess.

Toilet Repairs

Clogged Toilet Repair:

Clogged toilets are a fact of life.  They happen from time to time.  Yes, they are inconvenient, but usually, they can be easily fixed.

If you flush your toilet and the bowl fills with water or nothing happens, it’s most likely a simple clog.  The most important thing to remember is don’t flush a second time.  This forces the toilet to flush again, releasing gallons of water into the toilet bowl, which will overflow onto the floor.  A second flush will only create another disaster, in addition to your current situation.

A handy homeowner may try a plunger or other home remedies. But, if the toilet is still clogged, the clog might be more advanced, and therefore a problem. A professional plumber should examine a drain failure.  The issue might be more serious or be caused by invasive roots or pipe damage.  Call Water Wise Plumbing at (702) 605-6408 for further help or to schedule an examination of your toilet drain.

Running Toilet Repair:

A running toilet may be caused by something as simple as a dirty flapper. But, if the problem is beyond the homeowner’s skills, our team can promptly repair a running toilet.

Leaking Toilet Repair:

A leaking toilet tank is annoying and can cause damage. The problem could be something simple like a worn gasket, or more serious, such as a cracked tank. If your toilet tank is leaking, it needs fixing.
